A Christmas Vow

 A Christmas Vow
by Kate Condie
Release date: July 8, 2022

Kate really makes you fall in love with all the characters and even Aster Ridge.

Edna leaves for Aster Ridge to work for Willeim. She is leaving behind a past that she is struggling to leave behind. She has vowed to not marry someone that she has feelings for or has feelings for her as she has learned of hurt that can be caused by someone who claims they love you.

Hugh has been pinning for Catherine Price for years and she is willing to marry him. But he feels that he isn't good enough for her and that she wouldn't be truly happy living as poorly as he and his family does.

Edna and Hugh have feelings for each other but neither want to say anything about it as they don't plan on getting married. But as time pass and a near death experience happens. They have to rely on each other to survive and to make it home. They start to realize that they have feelings for each other.

This is such a fabulous book and truly helps you to remember that just because something happened in the past doesn't always mean that it will happen again and that you truly can find happiness again.

I received a free ARC copy of this book. Thank you Kate Condie for allowing me to read this book before it releases.

Friday Favorites!

I am going to start a Favorite Friday where I will be sharing books that I have read in the past. I know lately I read books that haven't come out yet and review them but I still have those go to books that I love to read.

The book to start of is Hearts in Hiding by Betsy Brannon Green. This one is part of the Haggerty Mystery Series.

I first got introduced to this books by one of my neighbors. I would borrow books from them as I was reading so many. I fell in love with this book and it has been one of my favorites for a long time.

Kate is working and living in Chicago. She is married to FBI agent Tony Singleton and also expecting a baby with him. He has been away on assignment and she hasn't heard from him in a while when she learns that he has been murdered. The same people who murdered her husband are after her.

So now the FBI is sending her into hiding with a new name, new city and a new Husband. They are moved to the small city of Haggerty, Georgia. Her new husband who is an FBI agent but his new assignment is to protect her and work as police chief in Haggerty.

I love this story so much. The characters in this book are so nosy and loveable at the same time. In Haggerty everyone knows everyone's business and basically walks into everyone's houses without knocking. I enjoy mystery books that aren't too intense and scary. This series is just enough suspense without being scary.

Other Books in the Haggerty Series:

Hearts in Hiding
Until Proven Guilty
Above Suspicion
Silenced
Copycat
Poison
Double Cross

Love on Camera

 Love on Camera
by Dana LeCheminant

Release date:

"I need you to pretend to be my boyfriend." He choked, spitting water all over the her, and grabbed a blanket from the arm of the couch so that she could dry herself off. "Sorry," He coughed. "I just...What? I thought that's what we were trying to avoid."

This was such a great start to this new series that Dana is writing. The series is going to be The Wonder boys and based of these four friends and their love lives. These boys are family and some of them have known each other for 20+ years.

Every once and a while I have these nights where I wake up and no matter what I do I can't get back to sleep. It is usually always about 2am. This morning was one of those. So I read all morning and got this book finished. I finished it and just got even more excited for the rest of this series. The Wonder Boys are so loveable.

Madi started her own photography company when she was just 16 years old. She had been able to grow her company nicely and is a very sought after photographer for weddings. She has no time for a dating life.  Her friend Danny is a wedding planner and has bet her if she can go on 10 double dates with him then she can redo the photos for his website. As Madi is so busy and doesn't have time to meet new people who better to step in and be her dates then The Wonder Boys.

Kit is Madi's older brother and part of The Wonder Boys. He doesn't love the idea of his friends pretend dating his sister with rules that can't be broken. They can hold hands but must not kiss her.

Oliver is one of the original Wonder Boys and has known Madi for 20+ years. He has agreed to be one of her dates and to be available to help her out. He is also the one that doesn't have much of a schedule since he isn't currently working.

Madi and Oliver never expected by pretending to be dating for reals after a creaper stalker that she met at a singles BBQ is talking about when they get married. So she tells him and Danny that she is dating someone. But once they pretend to be boyfriend and girlfriend it just wakes them up to what has been in front of them the whole time.

This book was so much fun. It had so many moments that made you laugh out loud, cringe and just love them. This book will be released July 15, 2022.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review.

Belonging with her best friend

 Belonging with her best friend
by Kristin Canary

"Shirt-gate was actually before Dance-Gate. But it was the first time I thought I might honestly stand a chance with you. That you might feel the same way about me as I did about you." My cheeks flame. "Why?" "Because your eyes told me you were hungry that morning-and not just for eggs."

It is a friends to lover story that is so much fun to read.  Shelby and Eric have been best friends for 17 years. She has always had feelings for Eric but has never told him. Eric has been passed back and forth from foster home to foster home after his adoptive parents pass away. Shelby's family has been the closest thing to family that he has had since then.

Shelby and Eric have been friends for so long and they were afraid that the other may not feel the same way that they did but also that it would ruin their relationship and that they would lose out on the friendship that they have had and always needed.

I loved this story. It was so much fun to be able to see them finally be able to be vulnerable with each other and to be able to be open with each other.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher. This book will be released June 20, 2022. This is book four in the California Dreamin' series. I have read the first book and loved it as well as this one. I still need to read book two and three.

There Goes the Groom

 There Goes the Groom
By Esther Hatch

Sorry if it is a little blurry. For some reason when I downloaded the book in kindle the title page didn't show up. So I got the image from on Goodreads.

"Ye seem to think a kiss might make it more difficult to get married, but what if ye don't even enjoy kissing me? Or I don't enjoy kissing you?" He snorted, as if she had said the most preposterous thing he had ever heard.  "You are being ridiculous right now. Of course I would enjoy kiss you. And my fiancĂ©e would never agree to such reasoning."

Lucy is betrothed to a man that she has never met. But due to some chance encounter with her younger sister acting as her, he has up and disappeared. Lucy had then been living with her mother in law to be for three years.

But then one day Lucy happens to come in contact with him in a town close to where they live. She then decides to pretend to be someone else so that she can get to know him and find out why he disappeared. Along the way they are able to open up to each other and to tell each other who they really are and to be able to find their happily ever after.

This book was so much fun to read and to see all the mischief they got into. This book is part of a series "A Romance of Rank" this is a novella in the series. The first book in the series (which also was so much fun to read is "Manor for Sale, Baron Included".

This book was part of a multi author novella release that happened on April 1st.

The Widow's Return

 The Widow's Return
by Jen Geigle Johnson

This book was part of a release that over 20 authors did on April 1st of this year. This book will be published in Spring of 2023. This book is the start of a new series A Gentleman's Match.

This is such a fun story and I am so excited for the rest of the series and to be able to continue to see how Lord Featherstone goes about matching other gentlemen with the ladies they are seeking.

Anna was about to be sent off to become a governess. Out of desperation she had asked her friend to run away and to marry her. He had told her he would but then didn't show up. But she instead married another Lord. But as the Lord has passed she had returned into society. Thankful that she was able to be her own person.

Ambrose was tethered into a secret engagement to help save his families lands. But then the lady he was engaged ended things and he went on tour for two years to get away from the scandal. He has wanted nothing more then to be with his best friend Anna. He tries everything to be with her but she has been snubbing him and avoiding him.

But when they are finally able to talk to each other about what happened and to talk about what they went through they are able to find the true happiness that they have been wanting all a long.
