Six Weeks to Live

 Six Weeks to Live
by Catherine Mckenzie

* Trigger warning: mental health, divorce, infertility
* does have some language, closed door romance

I won this book in a giveaway on Instagram. It was a blind date with a book. All I knew I was getting a suspense filled book. This may not have been a book that I would usually choose for myself if I sawn it at the store but I did enjoy it.

This book had so many twists and turns and when you think you had it figured out as to what had happened it threw another twist in and the ending truly was a surprise. I don't like books that are too scary but do like them to have some suspense to them. This one was a perfect one for me. The suspense was just right.

I loved that the chapters were from the perspective of each of the characters so you were getting more then one point of view as to what has currently happening and what they remembered from the past.

I know that I usually read the regency romance as they are my go to books but every once and a while I do like to break them up just a little bit. This was a good one to break away from the norm.

The Ebony: Out of the Fog

The Ebony: Out of the Fog
By Heather Fisher

I was so thankful that I had this next book to read after I had finished the first one, as book one had totally left you on a cliff hanger.

I have loved this story of James and Jane from the very beginning. They were so supportive of each other in their dreams and wanted the other to pursue them.

The friends in this story are just as endearing as James and Jane. They help you to see all sides of both James and Jane. They help us to see the best in all of them. They also help James and Jane to realize that they truly do care for each other.

Heather Fisher has done a fantastic job on writing a story that makes you feel like you are truly there and part of what is going on. You can so easily get lost in the book, which is not a bad thing. I am excited to see what other books she writes and to be able to enjoy those stories as well.

Highly recommend reading this book. But it is one that needs to be read in order so start with The Ebony: The Secret of Saint Helena.

Lady Jayne Disappears

 Lady Jayne Disappears
by Joanna Davidson Politano
Read by Justine Eyre

This is the first book that I have listened to or read by Joanna. This book caught me from the beginning and I had the hardest time stopping it.

When I usually listen to audio books it is in my driving back and forth running errands. But this one was so good that I found myself listening to it in the house.

I wanted so much to find out what had happened and what happened to cause it. There were so many unexpected twist and turns. It was keeping me on my toes and keeping me wanting to know more of what was going to happen. It makes me so excited to read more books by Joanna.

This picture for audible also is incredible and one of my favorite covers. So gorgeous.

The narrator Justine Eyre did such a fabulous job of making the characters so easy to love or hate.

The Ebony: Charm of Saint Helena

The Ebony: Charm of Saint Helena
by Heather Fisher

Handsome Naval Captain ✅
Loyal Friends✅
Mishaps✅
Gripping story✅

I have not stayed up late reading a book in forever. I have just learned if I do I pay for it the next day. But this one was so good. I would put the book down to get something else done throughout the day and just wanted nothing more then to be reading.

I loved how loving and caring her uncle was of her. He had raised her since she was young. He taught her part of his work and allowed her to dream about being whatever she wanted to be. It means the world to have someone that allows that.

I loved to see the friendships and loyalty of the group of friends that Jane makes in Jamestown. Some of them you wonder how they came to be friends as they seem like complete opposites but they have made it work and they are there for each other. It's always great to know that you have someone you can rely on.

If you have not read this book yet I highly recommend it. Book 2 is releasing February 7th! I am so excited and glad that the story continues.
