Seeking Persephone
by Sarah M. Eden
"No," she replied. "The way I've figured it, if the pack actually makes it into the castle, they'll eat you first."
I have been in such a reading slump. It has been so hard for me to even want to pick up a book and read. So I decided that I had to go back and read a favorite of mine to see if that helped me get out of my reading slump.
One of my all time favorite books is Seeking Persephone by Sarah M. Eden. It has so much heart and feeling to it. It has me laughing out loud at times. Even if I am reading it for the 10th time. It was really nice to be reading again and to find the joy in reading again.
"Mr. Adcock had mentioned her sizable dowry at least a dozen times, so I happened to ask Lady Hettersham, loudly enough for Mrs. Adcock to hear, whether or not it seemed odd that some ladies found it necessary to offer money to a prospective bridegroom in order to bring him up to scratch. No gentleman would accept a horse so ill-recommended that he had to be bribed to accept it."......"You compared her to a horse? I doubt even I could have produced such a cutting retort." He chuckled again. "Well done, Persephone."
There are so many other funny encounters in this book to share. But they all have you laughing. Sarah does such a masterful job in her stories. They truly have heart and leaving you feeling good after reading them.
